DOOL Spoilers: AnnaLynne McCord’s Official Airdate + Insight On “Mysterious” Character

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers note fans have been buzzing about AnnaLynne McCord since the announcement was made that she’d be joining the land of Salem last December. The actress recently talked about her official airdate and some hints about what her character will bring to the soap.

DOOL spoilers for Wednesday, June 19 reveal that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) are set to make a shocking discovery. Ironically, this is the very same day McCord is set to debut.

AnnaLynne tells Soaps.com that Days’ Marnie Saitta was the first casting director she auditioned for years ago at the age of 18, and 18 years later, she had the opportunity to test for her for this DOOL role. As McCord notes, “She (Marnie) said, ‘‘I have been waiting to work with you for 18 years!’ It felt really magical. She was incredible.”

It seemed that everyone from Marnie to co-executive producer Janet Drucker was on board with McCord, and when the actor’s strike ended in November 2023, the idea of her joining the Days cast surfaced. She would then begin shooting her first scenes in January of this year.

McCord tells Soaps.com that it wasn’t exactly clear who she would be playing at first, with things very “ambiguous”, as the writer transition played a role in all this. She adds, “So when I initially came on, no one really knew who I was gonna be. We were figuring it out as we went.”

Since Clyde Weston (James Read) has mentioned that Abigail DiMera (last played by Marci Miller) is alive, fans have been buzzing that McCord is a recast. When Soaps.com told AnnaLynne this, she noted, “They need to stop reading my journal!”

Also adding, “What fans who are clearly very clever will come to figure out very early on is that a certain gentleman who is not quite so gentle by the name of Clyde Weston has his fingers in the storyline of my character. So, I enter day one as ‘Mystery Woman.’” McCord also teases a “fun little ride” for Days audience members
