Fans have always been divided about Carlivati. Some viewers love the storylines while others think otherwise. We do have some information on the new writing team, so keep reading to get all the details.
DOOL spoilers reveal that Carlivati came on board as the head writer when the soap was still being broadcast on NBC.
After the pandemic, the soap went to streaming on Peacock. That has a whole set of complaints from fans on its own. However, there were reasons for that decision.
Moving on, Carlivtai first took over at the soap seven years ago. In January 2017, Carlivati began his run as the head writer.
However, due to the soap’s advanced production schedule, fans didn’t see this new material until July 2017.
Deadline reported that Carlivati is leaving as head writer. The new writing team will be taking over immediately. There will be two new head writers, Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford.
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that both women have a long history with daytime, so they are familiar with the genre.
In fact, Paula was part of the writing team on As The World Turns, The Young And The Restless, as well as Sunset Beach. Paula also served as an associate head writer and head writer at DOOL in the past.
As for Jeanne, she has been a breakdown writer at Days. This is where Jeanne began her soap career as a writer’s assistant. This was all the way back in 1992. Then, she worked on the writing teams at both ATWT and One Life To Live.
Before coming to DOOL, Carlivati was the final head writer when OLTL went off the air in 2012. Ron then went to General Hospital, where he served as head writer until 2015. The scribe has won Daytime Emmy awards in 2008 and 2018.
DOOL has issued an official statement, released by Soap Opera Digest,
“Days of our Lives is announcing today that Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford will become the daytime drama’s new head writers beginning immediately. As part of the change, head writer Ron Carlivati will be departing the show after seven years. Episodes written by Carlivati will air through April 2025 due to the show’s unique tape to air schedule.”
Additionally, executive producer Ken Corday mentioned,
“We look forward to approaching our 60th Anniversary next year with Paula and Jeanne Marie at the helm and fresh, exciting stories that we know the fans will embrace. We wish Ron nothing but the best and thank him for his dedication and the respect he has shown to me, the cast, and the show’s legacy.”
