Dark Shadows Reboot – What Do We Know!

In 2019, The CW and Warner Brother Television announced that they were creating a new series based on the Classic, 1966 soap opera, Dark Shadows. Dark Shadows: Reincarnation, is the name of the new series.

Dark Shadows Spoilers – What Is This Reboot About?

Dark Shadows Reincarnation “will be a modern-day continuation of the strange, terrifying, and sexy saga of the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine — a mysterious, influential, publicity-shy group hiding a ghastly secret: For the past 400 years, they’ve lived under a curse that bedevils their blue blood with every imaginable supernatural creature and horror,”Dan Curtis created Dark Shadows which aired for six seasons, 1966 to 1971, that is close to 1250 episodes before the end.

The Pilot episode of Reincarnation was written by Mark B. Perry who was the executive producer with “will be a modern-day continuation of the strange, terrifying, and sexy saga of the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine — a mysterious, influential, publicity-shy group hiding a ghastly secret: For the past 400 years, they’ve lived under a curse that bedevils their blue blood with every imaginable supernatural creature and horror.”

Dark Shadows – The Reboot Was Scrapped

In 2020, According to TVLine the reboot was scrapped, it never got past the pilot stage. In 2021 they Warner Brothers and the CW were happy with the script. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot of room in the schedule for a new show.

At that time, they had planned to pull out the second script and submit it to the network but there have not been any updates so far.

That is no concrete information on whether the who could be rebooted later on. It does seem that the CW would not be the choice because of their ever changing programming.

This was not the first attempt for a reboot and probably won’t be the last considering how popular the show was back then.

Dark Shadows – Fans Have Wanted The Reboot

There is definitely a reason why people have wanted the show rebooted. Where or not things work out is a different story.

Dark Shadow’s popularity hasn’t been diminished over the years. Fans seem to like shows of this type more and more. However, the fact that there hasn’t been a reboot so far really lies on the networks shoulders.

Is there a network that would consider a reboot of Dark Shadows? Surely someone will be interested at some point.

However, until then, we will just have to be happy with the possibility that one day this will come true. Dark Shadow could be very interesting for a new set of viewers.
