Brandon Sklenar Teases Yellowstone: 1923 Season 2

As fans look forward to season 2 of the Yellowstone spinoff, 1923, Brandon Sklenar revealed some production details of the second season. In the series, Sklenar plays the role of Spencer Dutton, while Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren star as his parents. With the death of the parent show, Yellowstone, fans will be excited about news of the Taylor Sheridan-created spinoff.

1923 star Brandon Sklenar recently attended the Golden Globes, where he spoke to Fox News about the second season of the Yellowstone spinoff, 1923. The actor revealed that filming on season 2 is set to start in a “couple of months.” However, he has no news about the coming storyline.

Sklenar explained the producers “run a pretty tight ship over there in terms of like information.” However, he did add that he is waiting for a couple of scripts for the upcoming second season before they start filming.

Sklenar has yet to work directly with Ford and Mirren

While Brandon shared a table with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren at the Golden Globes, he has yet to share screen time with the iconic actors. However, it looks like that may change in season 2 of 1923. Sklenar said:

I haven’t gotten to act with them yet. I will in the last eight episodes that we are about to start… It’s happening, and I’m stoked, I’m excited.

Can fans look forward to season 3 of the Yellowstone prequel?

While fans might be looking forward to a third season of Yellowstone: 1923, Taylor Sheridan has no plans to continue the series. Originally, the series was titled 1932, but following the initial announcement, Sheridan changed the name and year in which the story takes place. He did so to be able to continue the Dutton back story.

Meanwhile, Sheridan had already changed the show from a one-season limited series into a two-season show. Reportedly, he needed to do so to be able to complete the story of those earlier Duttons. For that reason, Paramount greenlit a second season of the Yellowstone prequel.

When can fans expect 1923 season 2 to premiere?

Thus far, no news is available as to when 1923 returns for the second season. Meanwhile, as they only start filming in March at the earliest, it is hoped that the second season will premiere in the fall of 2024.

Moreover, the network had previously announced the premiere of Yellowstone, season 5, part 2, in November. However, it is likely that the new season will only arrive in early 2025. In the meantime, fans can watch season 1 of 1923 on Paramount+.
