The moment that he sees Hope, he might want to reconcile. Once Thomas returns, things will look a lot different at Forrester Creations. He will learn the news that Hope for the Future is over.

Thomas’s return will come as a surprise to everyone, including Hope Logan. This poses the following question: Did Steffy ask Thomas to return home? Or, did Hope Logan urge him to come back to her?
