Viewers recall that the last edition of this character (as played well by Krista Allen) unceremoniously left Los Angeles, California, last year. She was only spoken of after that more recently. Fans sensed a comeback, and it arrived.

Believing that she is not long for the world, Taylor is happy that Ridge is in love and that he has a woman who cares for him. Taylor is sincere in wanting Bridge to be together and, because of her perceived terminal condition, has no plans to intervene.

One’s mortality is something most people consider at a certain point in life. Taylor is middle-aged. She only looks about ten to fifteen years older than Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), with the compliment applied to Budig and no slight meant toward Wood, who is ever-appealing.

Budig’s interpretation of this legacy character is encouraging. She is a daytime veteran with the chops to make this version of Taylor memorable.

Taylor returned to town to spend as much quality time with her family as possible. While she’s told Li to keep the heart failure diagnosis a secret, the audience knows that hope won’t hold.

Li’s inclusion is a plot-pusher because Taylor said she has not seen a cardiologist. So, a definitive diagnosis needs to be made, and then, if there is agreement with the initial medical call, a plan of action must be made.

The next step is for those in the know to go beyond Li. Most logically, someone in Taylor’s family, possibly John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), can be that character.
