It seems inexplicable why the show would continue to keep the actor on hiatus in a storyline where his mother appears to be dying!
Thomas’ comeback to the series has the potential to infuse the show with renewed warmth, particularly in the realms of romance and family dynamics.
His return is essential, as it could deliver the revitalization the show desperately needs-viewers last witnessed Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) when he returned with his son, Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri).
The surprise announcement of his engagement to Paris (Diamond White) who came with them left everyone stunned; their reconnection in Paris felt fitting.
Initially, it appeared that Thomas and Paris were on the verge of hosting a wedding at the Forrester mansion. However, Thomas chose to leave once more, heading back to Europe where he found greater happiness.
He also proposed the idea of having a simple wedding at some point, which is quite unexpected given that it doesn’t align with his usual character.
This plot twist could have introduced some emotional turmoil for Hope (Annika Noelle), who is still grappling with her feelings after losing him, leaving her emotions in disarray.
When “Thope” first entered the romantic scene, CBS soap ratings soared, but they have been steadily declining since then.
Thomas’ return could significantly boost B&B’s ratings and provide an opportunity for the characters to confront their romantic dynamics; their relationship was immensely popular, despite its controversies.
Over time, Thomas developed an intense obsession with Hope, even going so far as to create a mannequin of her and attempting to isolate her from Beth Spencer (Jordyn Lynn Ariza).
In the realm of soap operas, the most contentious love stories often capture the audience’s hearts; the return of Thomas could reignite themes of love and family within the narrative.
Speaking of family, the Forresters are in dire need of his presence at this moment-Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) has returned suffering from as terminal illness, which she wants to keep secret.
Yet, it would be more fitting for Taylor to have both Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas, along with all her grandchildren, by her side during this difficult time.
Over the years, Taylor and Steffy have developed a strong bond, but Taylor’s connection with her son remains particularly significant, especially after guiding him through his struggles.
It seems illogical to exclude Thomas and Douglas from this scenario; if Taylor were to pass away, they would miss the chance to say a final farewell to his mother.
