Grant Ellis was chosen by ABC as the next Bachelor and now, former Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay is giving him some advice. Grant will be the second male African American lead on the show. Notably, Rachel was the first Black Bachelorette. Read on to find out what she said.
Usually, the next Bachelor is announced after The Bachelorette ends. However, for Grant, it came early. That is something of a change because people applying as contestants know whose heart they will vie for. The former basketball player seems crazy about sports, and his day job, and he seems to be a happy sort of person.
Rachel Lindsay, you might expect, would give him some advice about racist fans. However, the ABC star who is going through a toxic divorce from Bryan Abasolo didn’t mention that sort of thing at all. Instead, she kept it neutral but sensible.
Recently, Rachel Lindsay spoke with People and talked about affairs of the heart on ABC. In part, she said:
I would say trust your gut. You have no outside influence, so you really have to trust yourself [and] listen to that inner voice, and follow that. Don’t let other people do it for you.
It seems like very good advice from the former Bachelorette, and possibly she knows just how much trusting your gut instincts counts. Certainly, she of all people should know that in the rush of filming, there are a lot of things that come into play that wouldn’t happen so fast if the contestants were not on a reality TV show.
Advice like that seems vital for any new Bachelor Nation lead. There have been whispers that sometimes, the production crew tries to sway the lead and that might make for great TV. But, it can also end in heartbreak. As the divorce with Bryan Abaloso plays out, Rachel LIndsay’s fans might hope that Grant Ellis remembers to get a prenup if he finds love on the show.
What do you think about Rachel Lindsay advising Grant Ellis to follow his gut? Do you agree that she never seemed certain that Bryan Abasolo was the right person for her?
Do you recall him assuring her that he was dedicated and devoted and his love was real? In fact, she had a lot of reservations, but he seemed to sweet-talk her out of them. Did she forget to trust her gut with him? Sound off in the comments below, and remember to come back here often for all your Bachelor news, updates, and spoilers.
