According to the American Idol Season 21 spoilers, all three judges are returning along with host Ryan Seacrest.

Katy Perry appeared in the new trailer alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The show unveiled a new trailer. On Friday, December 29, ABC released an ad for its seventh run on the network. 

The promo featured a Wizard of Oz theme. Katy was dressed as Dorothy, while Luke was the scarecrow, Lionel as the lion, and Ryan Seacrest as the tin man. They walked through the hometowns of the past winners and runner-ups.

Katy wanted to know what was behind the gate. Ryan revealed to her that it was the golden road to Hollywood. 

“Somewhere over the rainbow… a star will be born,” the American Idol host responded. 

According to the American Idol spoilers, there’s no shakeup among the judges. All of them will return for the 21st season. The ad concluded with Katy Perry clicking her ruby slippers.

She admitted: “There’s no place like American Idol.” The show will premiere on Sunday, February 18 on ABC and stream the following day on Hulu.

Last season, Katy Perry got backlash for the way she treated the contestants. Some of them even admitted that she was as rude as she came off on television.

Fans wanted her removed from the show. Last season was also the first season that Katy got booed on live television. She reveled in that moment.

Most fans took to the comment section to ask when she was planning to release new music. One fan asked: “KP6 when?” Another user wrote: “What day does this season end? We want new music.” 

Katy Perry hasn’t released a new album since 2020, when she released her fifth album, Smile. A few days before the album’s release, she became a new mom.

Katy wrapped up her Las Vegas residency this year. Fans want to know when she’s going to put this amount of energy back into her music career.
