‘American Idol’ Laine Hardy Releases A New Single

American Idol Season 17 winner, Laine Hardy was a favorite of Katy Perry. He started out full of promise and then ended up in disgrace after he was caught placing a listening device in his girlfriend’s room.

Since then, he went quiet and although stalwart fans stuck by him, he’s been stagnating since 2022. However, this week he announced that he is releasing a new song and it will drop soon. 

Laine Hardy Was On the Road To Success

At the time of his arrest, the musician from Livingston, Louisiana was starting to get some recognition from big music mags like Taste of Country. Touted as an up-and-coming country music star, he fell from grace very quickly. Perhaps it was because his image was of wholesome goodness, that people felt so shocked. 

Although it took time for the American Idol winner to bring out new songs, what he did deliver found a lot of approval. If you don’t know, Laine Hardy ended up doing a program to get the crime wiped from his record. That kept him busy for a while. Taste of Country reported:

It was a year-long effort between all parties to find the best way to resolve the case. The victim was never identified and is not quoted as being in support of or against this plan, but the district attorney indicated that she’d given her blessing.

American Idol Winner Drops A New Song

After Labor Weekend, Laine Hardy took to his Instagram and shared a snippet of a song. In his caption, he said, “New Song “That Man” – September 6, 2024.” Surprisingly, he still retains just over half a million followers on his Instagram. While he hasn’t been posting a lot of music, he has been active in the Baton Rouge area, playing at clubs and small events. 

The American Idol winner could have gone on to much bigger things, but he made a mistake. And now, he’s got to claw his way back. Fortunately for him, Laine has a following willing to help him do that.
