90 Day Fiance alum Michael “Mike” Eloshway has been sentenced for possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM.) The former TLC star appeared in Season 1 of 90 Day Fiance in 2014 alongside his wife from Russia, Aziza.

Mike Eloshway Pleaded Not Guilty In Court

Turning down a plea deal that could have imprisoned him for 12 to 15 years, the TLC alum risked a trial where he was found guilty. At the time, his mom, who was in the court broke down and cried. While he remained quiet, 90 Day Fiance fans didn’t. On social media, they felt angry because the crimes involved thousands of images and videos of young children being abused.

Ahead of the sentencing, Mike Eloshway’s wife, Aziza, wrote a letter to the judge and pleaded for leniency. In it, she claimed that he was an amazing dad to their five-year-old daughter. Additionally, she claimed that he was a “loyal friend” and a “kindly soul.” Of course, it’s possible that her letter made no difference, but the court sentenced him for less than they could have.

90 Day Fiance Star Will Serve Over A Decade

After his October 29 sentencing hearing, Clevelend.com reported that the former TLC star will “serve ten years and one month” in prison. Additionally, he will have “10 years of strict post-prison supervision,” including monitoring of any online activity. Furthermore, he needs to pay thousands of dollars to a “human trafficking victims” fund. Two individuals will also get compensation from him.

Mike Eloshway also needs to become a “registered sex offender,” with the registration applying for the rest of his life. The TLC personality could have gotten many more years, and he landed two years less than Josh Duggar from 19 Kids and Counting. Perhaps that came because he seemed contrite, and claimed he downloaded the CSAM content unknowingly. “A polygraph” suggested that was an honest statement.

TLC Alum Spends Christmas With The Family

The 90 Day Fiance alum requested that he get to spend a last holiday with his family before he starts serving his prison sentence. The judge granted his request, and he will hear from the Bureau of Prisons about his date to report for the start of his time inside. It’s not yet known which prison will accommodate him for ten years. Aziza will probably be distraught, and she didn’t make any statement to the press although she appeared at the sentencing hearing. Previously, she said in her letter that her husband had made a “mistake.”
