90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days star Rayne hails from New Mexico and she farms chickens. However, some TCL fans are convinced that they don’t look very healthy and there might be something wrong with them. Read on to find out more.

Rayne Seems To Love Chickens

Ahead of the new edition of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, TLC fans heard that Chidi was blind. And, they heard that Rayne from New Mexico raised chickens. Initially, fans liked her because she seemed to be kind to animals. But, it was her unkindness to Chidi that made fans declare her a “whack-a-doodle.”

Rayne was also compared to Angela Deem, and once that sort of thing happens, it seems that TLC cast members can do no right. So, are critics just being unreasonable to worry about her hens? 90 Day Fiance fans seem convinced that there is something wrong with the chickens, so we checked it out.

Are The Chickens Being Looked After Properly?

On Reddit, 90 Day Fiance fan u/Dramatic_View_5340 claimed that they were raised on a farm, and it worried them because the chickens looked like they were going bald. Sharing a screenshot, they asked other TLC fans about it.

Talking about the chickens that Rayne raises, the OP said:

Why do all of Rayne’s chickens look bald?
But WHYYYYYY? I grew up on a farm in Oregon and have never seen this before.

What Could Be Wrong?

In the comments section, plenty of 90 Day Fiance fans took guesses. Actually, a lot of them don’t like Rayne, so they assumed she kept them in abusive or sickly conditions. here are a few of those comments:

  • Stressed the f–k out from dealing with her crazy *ss.
  • I’m not an expert, but I know some birds will pull out their feathers, if they’re upset. I have no idea if that’s what is going on though.
  • Stress, dietary deficiency, lice or mite infestations, and something called feather picking which is often affectionate but severity like this means anger from other birds. That many birds in that small space is literal animal abuse, and she’s obviously an aggressive person so I think needing to stare each one in the eye before feeding them doesn’t help either.

Well according to Chickens and More, stress can cause birds to pick at their feathers. Plus, in overcrowded conditions, other birds might peck at each other. But, there are other reasons for it. One of those is an annual and quite natural molt. The website also mentions:

  • Predator Attacks (unlikely to affect lots of birds.)
  • Disease and Poor Nutrition
  • Lice, Mites, and Other Parasites
  • Preening (This might involve just a few feathers,)
  • Broodiness (usually on the breast of the hen.)
  • Mating and Roosters (usually seen on the nape of the neck.)
  • Pecking and Bullying

Judging from that information, the chickens that TLC star Rayne has could either be stressed from overcrowding, suffer from parasites, or have disease and poor nutrition. However, you should know that we are not experts. Perhaps you are one and can suggest something else to TLC fans.

What are your thoughts about the chickens that Rayne raises in New Mexico? Do you think they might have been going through a molt? Or were they stressed, overcrowded, and not looked after properly?
