A hot new Young and the Restless promo video shows Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) discussing her plans to go out of town.

Victor reassures his wife everything will be fine with their family while she is away, he encourages her to enjoy her time with her sister Casey Reed.

So, who exactly is Casey Reed and why is she being brought up now?  IF you are a long time The Young and the Restless viewer, then you most likely remember Nikki Newman’s sister from back in the day.

Dr. Cassandra “Casey” Reed (Roberta Leighton) made her Genoa City debut back in 1978 and was a regular feature on the CBS soap for ten years.  The last time she appeared on Y&R was in 1998.

Y&R Spoilers – Who Is Nikki Newman’s Sister Casey Reed?

Casey is most well-known as Nikki’s older and responsible sister, she looked out for her often after their mother was killed in a car crash.  Back in the day, Nikki was a bit of a wild child.

So, why is The Young and the Restless bringing Casey Reed back now, 25 years later?

Rumor has it Nikki’s new protege Claire (Hayley Erin) is somehow linked to Nikki’s sister.  But, it’s unclear if she is related to them, or related to somebody who is out to get Reed sisters.
