The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) got carried away. But there is no doubt Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) took advantage of her desperation and played into her hatred of their mutual enemy, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) tried to push Phyllis off Diane for months. Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) gave her mother every last benefit of the doubt. Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) gave Phyllis a lifeline when hiring her at Omegasphere. But nothing the above characters or others did could prevent Phyllis from seeking what she felt was payback revenge against Diane.

Phyllis is one of those people who can not let go of the past. She obsessed about Diane wronging her to the point that what happened was exaggerated in her mind. Then, she played off what happened to others.

Diane did not cause Phyllis to be charged with murder. Her faked death caused Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to be charged with a capital crime.

Diane did not cause Phyllis to lose her marriage. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) lost hers because Diane cavorted with Tucker McCall (then played by Stephen Nichols and now played by Trevor St. John).

Y&R Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Appointed Herself The Avenger

Phyllis is a sort of vigilante. She believes the justice system failed everyone.

So Phyllis decided to appoint herself Diane’s judge and jury. But the execution of the plan to get Walters’ character has backfired beyond anything Phyllis planned for.

The need to kill Jeremy infinitely reinforced just how much Phyllis allowed herself to be controlled by Diane, who had actually backed off her. And Phyllis can not claim that Diane stole Jack because she had not fallen back in love with Bergman’s character and only wanted him to keep Walters’ character away.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Time Behind Bars Would Be Justified

Phyllis would receive a multiple-year jail sentence on the other side of the screen in a fair justice system where no one is paid to shield criminals from justice based on deranged views of human behavior.

Killing Jeremy in self-defense can hopefully be proven with evidence. Phyllis does not deserve time in jail for that act.

However, she willingly faked her death, played like it was murder, and initially intended to let Diane be convicted. The emergency management technician Jeremy hired as part of the ruse might be the only hope Phyllis has to avoid a long jail sentence for the multiple crimes she committed against Diane.

But even if Phyllis avoids prison, she must realize a legal consequence, or another attack against Diane could happen on Y&R.
