The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Traci Abbott Takes Charge

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) are two 60-something grandparents who still bicker like they are 12 over teenage-like problems. Ashley doesn’t like the fact that Jack plans to marry Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Jack doesn’t like the fact that Ashley plans to marry Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John). They argue about it left and right and each one has tried to usurp the other with business too.

Brother Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who is also quite immature, got in the middle of it all and has been enlisted by both of his older siblings to help them carry out corporate coups. Sometimes they even forget there is a mature member of their family who is able to see reason and often has to set everyone straight on how it is going to be.

That voice of reason is Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and she has good reason for wanting to make sure everything is A-OK between Jack and Ashley and it has to do with her own career as a novelist. She will have to leave GC again and wants to know that everything is ok at Jabot.

To that end, Traci calls a family meeting but the clan gets a surprise visitor in the form of an old friend of John Abbott’s who has some memories to share. This will become a very special episode featuring flashbacks of the Abbott family through the years with their patriarch John Abbott.

It will be a tribute hour to Jerry Douglas and that old friend is played by none other than Douglas’ wife, Kym Douglas. The actor passed away nearly two years ago but now it is time to say goodbye to him, despite John dying well over a decade ago. Will these memories bring any peace between Jack and Ashley before Traci has to go away? Jack and Ashley do love one another and it is time to start acting like grown ups.
