The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease a sweet surprise might await Abby Abbott-Newman (Melissa Ordway) once the lawsuit is over. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) may have inherited a little of his birth father Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) qualities, and make an over the top gesture of proposing marriage.

Recently, Devon made a comment about “being with someone” but then backtracked, since he wasn’t sure where he and Abby stood at the time. She said there wasn’t any need to label their relationship and they could figure it out after the courtroom drama. However, they are definitely in a romantic relationship and are dating, so things could always progress from there.

By the time the lawsuit and the courtroom drama are over, Devon may be ready to step it up a bit with Abby. It would be interesting to see if any of Tucker’s propensities for grand gestures did indeed pass down to him and he’d try some of those daring romantic moves on Abby.

Family is super important to Devon, and he may insist he wants Abby to be more than just his girlfriend when it’s time to define their relationship. His family with Abby and Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (River and Rainn Ware) is like a security blanket to him, so it won’t be surprising if he wants to make things more permanent.

According to The Young and the Restless spoilers, Abby and Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) divorce should be final-divorces take much less time in soap world – so there won’t be anything to hold them back. However, since Abby was burned bad with Chance and she felt like they rushed into a marriage, it’s possible she may not be quite as enthusiastic.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Grand Gesture Needed?

If Abby’s a little gun shy about saying their I do’s, perhaps a grand gesture may be needed to convince her and to dazzle her into a “yes”. Maybe he’ll loosen up enough to take some time off from work to take her to a faraway exotic place to propose to her, or he may even suggest they elope! As long as he doesn’t remind her TOO much of Tucker, she might think the ideas are exciting and fun, after all, she wasn’t always a stick in the mud.

After all, she was the one who garnered the nickname of “The Naked Heiress” by streaking into her grandparents’ engagement party on a horse ala Lady Godiva! A fun, exciting exotic vacation or even the idea of shocking everyone with an elopement might just do it.
