Y&R Spoilers: Summer Rightly Defended – Diane Does Not Compare Herself To Phyllis

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) was trashed by Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) were stunned to hear Kyle’s reveal. But Diane quickly defended her daughter-in-law’s position.

Kyle was irate when finding Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) at the Genoa City Athletic Club. He did so after suspecting his wife was lying to him.

However, as Diane pointed out, Summer was put in a no-win situation by Phyllis, who was tagged as the real villain.

Kyle was lied to. It was natural he would be angry about Summer knowing Phyllis was alive before Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) found out.

Daniel covered for his sister by saying Phyllis reached out to him first, and he met with her. That allowed Summer to maintain the ruse of trust with Kyle.

Mealor’s character believes Summer is responsible for Diane remaining in prison and later, being in home confinement. Kyle is upset because he feels Summer should have turned Phyllis into the authorities.

Y&R Spoilers  – Phyllis Summers’ Mistake Limited Her Options

Everything was set in a negative motion when Phyllis decided that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) needed to know how to contact Diane. Stafford’s character anonymously contacted Jeremy because she wanted to protect herself while seeking revenge against Diane.

But Phyllis’ plan to aim Jeremy at Diane failed. He suspected Phyllis was the contact and relentlessly pursued an alliance with her until she felt it was her only option.

By aligning with Jeremy, Phyllis made her soapy bed. She only fully realized the gravity of her mistake in the hotel room, when Jeremy intended to kill her with scissors. Attending her wake was the precursor wake-up call.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Not Completely Honest

Kyle used a particular adjective when realizing that his mother’s take on Summer’s actions was right. He said Diane was amazing. Well, not exactly.

Like Diane, Kyle does not care about Phyllis. Diane correctly made that point when explaining why Summer acted as she had.

Diane asked Kyle if he would defend her or Phyllis if the scenario were reversed. That was an insightful and effective point that affected Kyle’s outlook.

However, Diane did not make the other comparison. She put Kyle in a terrible position when faking her death years ago. Phyllis did the same to Summer and Daniel but only waited weeks before telling them the truth. Plus, as Summer said, Phyllis had to defend her life when killing Jeremy on Y&R.
