However, Nick and Sally were romantically involved at that time in the plot. That gives her plausible doubt about paternity. She has not asked Nick to take a paternity test for somewhat murky reasons.

It is reasonable to assume that Adam or anyone else will see that Sally is pregnant by the kiss of winter to spring. So, Sally’s comment to Chloe, about not being able to deal with Adam’s prodding for nine months, is naive.

Sure, this storyline can be believably presented in two directions. Nick is the man Sally wants. Adam was dumped and will have to accept that his older brother is the father, but only after a test result confirms that reality.

However, Adam will never accept Sally’s word if she claims the child is Nick’s without having a paternity test to back it up. The drama surrounding a forced test would be good soap, with the characters and audience waiting for the results.

Adam would seem to be the odds-on favorite to be the father in any scenario. But this is soap, and many episodes are needed before that answer is available on Y&R.
