The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) lashes out at Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) because of what happened to their baby. Viewers were increasingly concerned that the building health crisis would affect Sally’s ability to carry her unborn child to term. Sadly, her life was lost at Genoa City Memorial Hospital.

Adam was with Sally at the GC Athletic Club while Sally was resting. He was standing in for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), who was helping Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) fend off Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby).

Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) happened to be in the exact hospital room where Adam and Sally were sent to. That furthered the climax of this storyline.

Sally was a first-time mother. Adam was looking forward to having his first daughter. The tie through their highly anticipated child deepened the bond of this former couple.

But it is too soon to suggest that what happened will end the emotional tie between Sally and Adam. Based on their mutual feelings, it could open a new chapter.

In the short-term, Sally wants to be with Nick. Morrow’s character was fully committed to her after learning Adam was the father. Sally’s honesty about the situation proved to be key in that regard.

Sally fell in love with Nick long after she developed her crush on Adam. Of course, she went beyond the fawning stage with Adam until he foolishly chose to end their relationship.

Nick projected as the more stable option. He is significantly older than Adam and also treated Sally with full respect.

Sally’s best friend, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson), was relieved she replaced Adam with Nick. That factor aids Nick’s cause to a certain extent.

Her sweet relationship with Nick has developed in recent months, with the baby not creating the type of tension Sally anticipated. Nick’s response reinforced Sally’s belief that he was husband material.

Losing a child is devastating. But the daughter she and Adam were expecting will always remain part of their lives.

Sally will need time to recover physically and mentally. She has a strong resiliency streak. So, everyone will expect a rebound shortly.

Whether Sally remains with Nick is an open question. While he does check many of the boxes Sally desires, Adam clearly retains a place in her heart on Y&R.
