The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) tried to convince Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that she was over his brother. Her efforts did not work and now Nick wants a break.
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has never been convinced that Sally is in love with Nick. Adam thought correctly, as Nick’s actions imply, that Sally does not love his brother but still loves him.
Sally’s reveal about Adam kissing her proved to be the breaking point. She is being forced to reflect on her feelings and potentially make a decision.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nick Newman Already Gone?
Nick has a history of trust issues. There have been times, like his dalliance with Grace Turner (Jennifer Gareis), or the scandalous affair with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that led to the end of his marriage to the then-Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) where Nick was the trust-breaker.
In this storyline, the depth of Sally’s feelings is in question. She has not cheated on him, as the cavort with Adam that led to Ava Hope’s conception happened when Sally and Nick were not together.
Sally also did not initiate the kiss with Adam. However, Nick recognizes that her choosing to have dinner with him and then allowing Adam to walk back to her room creates an opportunity.
Y&R Spoilers – Sally Spectra Is Caught In Between
Sally loved Adam first and does not deny that. However, she feels that Nick is the far better man and the right choice to pursue a stable life.
It is as if Sally has been trying to think herself away from Adam and Nick because he checks the boxes Grossman’s character does not. But that approach is not natural and has not produced a lessening of her feelings for Adam.
The truth appears obvious. Sally is fond of Nick and has been using him as a vehicle to drive away from Adam. But he is still in her heart and can not be forcibly pushed out.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Is In A Better Position
Adam is not at odds with his father. That alone makes him far less miserable and self-defeating than he can often be.
He is pursuing another personal reset. This effort is slightly different than past efforts, and Sally believes he is trying to be a better person.
Nick’s decision to take time apart from Sally provides her incentive to reconsider Adam. It is fair for Nick to make that move and see if being separated from him creates a desire to reconcile or affirms Adam as her true love on Y&R.
