Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is clearly interested in rekindling a romance with ex, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).

However, since Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) re-entered Genoa City as a single pringle, it looks like the rockstar and bug could end up reuniting.

That is if Red doesn’t scheme and plot to keep them apart. But if she didn’t, this arc would feel like the “same old-same old”, when fans would love to see something “different” unravel. So, could a major plot twist have these two ladies turning from foes to friends?

Y&R spoilers note the Cricket-centric show that recently aired was not only an episode to honor Lauralee Bell and Christine’s time in GC, but it also had a goal to move current storylines forward.

One major point within the episode was Christine’s feud with Phyllis over the years. Danny’s been a huge reason why these two ladies have never gotten along; however, both Red and the Bug have played their own respective roles in the animosity they’ve shared along the way.

Interestingly enough, Phyllis was very vocal about putting the past behind them and moving forward, but did she really mean it?

As much as Red’s ego will hurt with this one, Danny clearly wants to be with Christine. If Phyllis has changed, then she’ll be the bigger person and step aside to allow this super couple to reunite.

After all, she was the main reason they broke up in the first place. Who knows what would’ve happened had she not faked Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) paternity all those years ago?

Still, if Christine wants to reunite with Danny, this means his ex will be in the picture. After all, with Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) and the holidays coming up, there will be plenty of family events going on.

Danny may have a talk with Phyllis to smooth things over. Sure, she would love to jump back into a relationship with him, but the two are also friends and she has a soft spot in her heart for him. If she truly has changed, she will want what’s best for Danny.

If Christine is up for the challenge, maybe the ladies can put their differences aside and be civil. At least for the sake of Danny, Daniel, and Lucy.
