Y&R Spoilers: Phyllis Owed Respect – Summer Needs Clarity

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that  Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is attempting to resolve differences with her daughter. Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) head is spinning, mostly because of Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

Summers’ plan, to take Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) on an excursion to France, was intended for a specific reason. Lanier’s character wanted to get away from her husband’s mother.

Diane is a never-ending, relentless drama machine. Phyllis warned of the exhaustion effect months ago. But Summer felt she could manage Diane and Stafford’s character. She failed on both fronts.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Diane Jenkins’ Theft Scheme

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) decided that he is the only person suited to steal Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) jewels. His idea stems from Diane deciding she can handle Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) by passing a high-bar test.

Jeremy distrusts Diane with good reason. On that plot point, Jeremy and Phyllis are in agreement. But Phyllis wants nothing to do with Jeremy, who she lured to Genoa City, Wisconsin, by providing information about Diane.

Diane needs to steal a high-value item to supposedly put herself back in Jeremy’s good graces. She believes doing so will help her to fool him, with the endgame being his permanent neutralization.

Y&R Spoilers – Kyle Abbott Allowing Family Chaos

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) loves his mother. That is not something Summer is trying to dissuade, not that she could.

However, Kyle’s emotions, like his father’s, have allowed major dissension within the Abbott family. Kyle is not fighting with Summer, like Jack is fighting with his sister, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). But Mealor’s character put his wife in a position where she felt Phyllis was the problem, when she arguably was not.

Whether Kyle realizes that Summer’s jaunt is a reflection of his inability to protect his wife and son from Diane’s drama will soon be seen.

Phyllis worked hard to reestablish her reputation. The Grand Phoenix hotel proved to be her successful comeback vehicle.

She sold the GP to help Jack and the Abbott family. But choosing to join Marchetti was a miserable miscalculation due to Diane’s chicanery.

Jack remains mesmerized by Diane. Phyllis needs to let him play that out until he makes his own break. In the meantime, bonding with Summer is top priority on Y&R.
