Y&R Spoilers: Phyllis Must Get The Upper Hand With Tucker, Adam Has The Dirt

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) threw-in with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) because she was desperate.

Accepting his offer to become the Information Technology head at the new media division he is helping to head was necessary because of the favor she asked for and was granted.

Adam’s initial reaction was to resist involving himself with a woman who was facing murder and other criminal charges.

But he saw the value in obtaining information on Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) that should help Phyllis counter the control he has over her.

The leverage Adam obtained involves McCall Industries covering up an unseemly matter with one of its recording artists. Audra Charles’s (Zuleyka Silver) hands were involved in that matter, which furthers the soapy scenario that is being mined.

Fans know that the Tucker character was off-screen when the referenced dishonest corporate behavior happened at the company he formerly owned. That business was recently purchased by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) who obtained it to provide yet another opportunity for Adam to prove himself.

Of course, the audience never saw Audra during the period when she initially worked for Tucker. That character was introduced in Genoa City, Wisconsin, last September.

Audra’s tie was to Noah Newman (Rory Gibson). She soon told him about miscarrying their child, which he never knew. Silver’s character was revealed to also be tied to Tucker, who was more than her mentor.

Adam does not do favors for anyone, other than his children and the women he loves. Phyllis is not someone Adam has romantic feelings for. So, his assistance is in the form of a transaction.

Phyllis recently told her children, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier), that she is having financial troubles. Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) took control of her money during the latter weeks of his life. That, along with her legal issues, means she needed a job.

Stafford’s character cited her working cheaply for Adam. She agreed to do so in exchange for Adam’s acquisition of information about Tucker, which he will likely also use himself in some manner.

Phyllis projects an optimistic outlook as best she can. But internally she does not know if her efforts will prevent jail time.

Hardcore soap fans know that a lead character is not going to spend many years in prison. Weeks or possibly, months? Maybe.

But if all goes well, the proof Phyllis obtained from Adam should allow her to make Tucker deliver on his promise to have Carson (no last name known for the Emergency Medical Technician played by Walter Belenky) speak on her behalf. That should result in Phyllis avoiding serious legal consequences on Y&R.
