The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) faced mortal danger. In a skillfully written and presented scene, viewers did not see Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) meet his demise. But the audience knows that Phyllis defended her life.

Jeremy is no more. Phyllis’ self-defense act was not witnessed unless a hidden camera is revealed to have been present in her motel room on the apparent outskirts of Genoa City, Wisconsin.

It appeared as though Jeremy intended to rid himself of Phyllis when they got to whatever island her new life was supposed to begin or possibly before that. He increased the timeline for that decision when realizing she intended to break their murder hoax plan.

Phyllis does not often admit that she is wrong. Yet, she told Jeremy that framing Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was done at a high a price.

Jeremy did not care about Phyllis’ regrets. He knew that she was likely not going to stick to her word by withholding his name when revealing herself as alive. That choice would have put Jeremy’s recently realized freedom in serious jeopardy.

Phyllis’ initial instincts about Jeremy’s dangerous persona proved out big time. She was then compelled to reverse the hoax that landed Diane in jail, knowing that her nemesis would likely be cleared.

Y&R Spoilers – Kudos To The Great Michelle Stafford

This very serious storyline included some needed humor. Stafford’s appearance at her character’s wake was hilarious.

Phyllis’ disguise was something classic entertainment fans saw Lucille Ball do on certain occasions in one of her various hit sitcoms. Stafford’s acting chops include comedy, and she arguably remains one of this iconic soap opera’s best-ever actors.

The work Stafford delivered in this storyline goes along with her many storied performances. She earned two Daytime Emmy awards through the years. Future statues should be part of her collection.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Summer Newman Abbott And Daniel Romalotti Have Regrets

Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) love their mother. That was never in question. But neither person can deny that they took her love for granted.

Phyllis was happy to learn that Summer and Daniel regretted how they treated her in recent months. That was enough to convince Phyllis agreeing to the murder hoax was a terrible decision.

Jeremy sloughed off the permanent separation from Summer and Daniel as meaningless. Phyllis asserted her fierce maternal bond, and used that to fuel Jeremy’s brutal ending on Y&R.
