His irrationally stubborn inability to understand why Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) helped her mother caused him to throw the family they built away. Summer had to help Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) no matter what Kyle thought, thinks, or will ever decide. In a similar situation, he would have done the same.

Meanwhile, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) was circling the waters in Genoa City, Wisconsin, looking for a mark. Kyle is more than happy to play that role, knowing being with her with hurt Summer. The cruelty of his actions is immeasurable and will continue to produce devastating consequences.

In Kyle’s baby-boy mind, he believes Summer should have reported Phyllis to the authorities. Yet, when Kyle followed Summer to the Genoa City Athletic Club and found she and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) were meeting with Phyllis, he did not do the same.

Summer felt guilty for keeping Phyllis’ existence a secret from Kyle. But she knew that if Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) learned that information, the authorities would too.

Kyle has not only broken his marriage vows, but he also believes working for his father’s longstanding rival, by joining Newman Enterprises, represents a further break from the past.

Understandably, Kyle was hurt. But his reaction to Summer’s subjective mistake is beyond extreme.

There may come a point in the plot where Kyle realizes the damage he, not Summer, caused. On a most basic level, will he believe that Audra can be a replacement mother for Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez)?

Audra wanted to romantically reconnect with the father, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson), of the baby she miscarried in Europe. That did not happen.

Considering the escapades Audra and Kyle are exploring, it is reasonable to believe that this pairing could represent far more than a causal relationship. This appears to be the replacement pairing Kyle wants on Y&R.
