Y&R Spoilers: Jack Pleased With Billy’s Loyalty – Diane Wants To Win

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) believes that his co-Chief Executive Officer needs to prepare for war. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) disagrees, believing their sister will not respond in that manner.

But viewers know that Jack is right. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is currently plotting to convince employees to despise Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) as much as they love John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) namesake. Ashley also plans to take her patents back and use them to build Simply Ashley.

Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) is not driving this soapy bus as Jack, Billy, Diane and others think. Ashley is calling her shots and she intends to aim her fury at Jack’s revived love.

Billy was open to talking to Diane before Jack arrived in the executive suite. Viewers knew Bergman’s character came from a passionate chat with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) at the Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) Jazz Lounge.

Diane wanted to tell Billy that she appreciated his backing. He was not opposed to her being at Jabot but did offer a suggestion she found off-putting.

Billy asked Diane to temporarily step back from the new position Jack just appointed her to. She was surprised, believing the Chief Talent Officer position would allow her to help shape the company.

But his proposal was logical, as it asked Diane to remove herself as the main source of contention between Jack and Ashley.

For the moment, Diane has it over Ashley and all other detractors. But the plot Ashley and Tucker are hatching is soon to include using Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) as a psychological weapon.

Diane has Jack’s heart which, according to Ashley, has caused him to lose focus on defending the best interests of Jabot. Jack dismisses Ashley’s talk as part of her perceived irrational rivalry with Diane.

As long as Jack maintains control of Jabot, he will have a base of power. Diane’s elevation means her role at the company is key to its success or lack thereof in the near term.

Ashley has an advantage over other business enemies, including Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), do not have. She and her other siblings know Jack better than anyone.

Jack will feel pressured if Ashley can lure Jabot employees to her company. He will also be forced to fight multiple battles if Diane is thrown off her game as Tucker’s manipulation of Phyllis aims to do.

Defending one’s business turf is a part of the corporate game. But doing so when Ashley has working knowledge of Jack’s brain will make the coming conflict compelling on Y&R.
