Y&R Spoilers: Harmony Talks Tucker Up – Devon Gains Renewed Perspective

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Harmony Hamilton (Chene Lawson) returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin, for various reasons. She wanted to see her son and grandson and was glad to accept the invitation that Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) biological father offered.

Devon was surprised and deeply touched that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) arranged for his biological mother to be at the event that honored the late Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). The reunion moment happened n the jazz lounge that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) recently unveiled at GC’s bicentennial celebration.

Devoted audience members recall the storyline where the character whose original first name was Yolanda, was introduced. She was suffering from substance abuse issues.

Devon led a troubled life and debuted at a local recreation center where Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) met him. That led to Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) taking an interest in Devon and Neil becoming a mentor.

Eventually, the Winters’ family adopted Devon, and Yolanda made a play for Neil that he rejected and she regretted.

Years passed, and the character Lawson played was recast, with daytime veteran Debbi Morgan (Harmony) becoming the renamed edition.

As viewers learned, Harmony has since gotten a degree and works in what appears to be the social service field, earning Devon’s pride. She has also been talking up forgiveness, meaning for Tucker, to her son.

Tucker has openly admitted that he did not know how to be a father. He expressed his gratitude for Neil having stepped in for him and raising Devon.

Trevor St. John’s performance as the Tucker recast is terrific. He has taken the character in a new direction and has solid chemistry with his scene partners.

Devon was naturally uncertain if Tucker would stick in GC or fly off to parts unknown. But the only father he has left on this earth wants his reformed life to be with his son, grandson, and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson).

Hardcore fans recall that Devon forged a decent relationship with Tucker (then played by daytime veteran Stephen Nichols, who currently portrays Steve Patch Johnson on Days of our Lives). That resulted when Tucker helped Devon get surgery for a hearing issue that was since been resolved.

But Tucker left GC after his mother, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), died in 2013 and was not seen until last year. The recast to St. John implied the start of a multi-pronged storyline which has since hit on Y&R.
