Y&R Spoilers: Did The Soap Miss A Major Storyline With Teriah’s Adoption?

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will have their hands full with all things baby in the months ahead. The good news is that their adoption of Aria Porter Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle) went pretty smoothly. In fact, the entire event occurred offscreen. However, the bad news is fans of Teriah haven’t seen much of the couple as of late. Did the soap opera miss their mark on an interesting storyline for them?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – It’s Been Smooth Sailing For Teriah, For A While Now

Y&R spoilers don’t exactly mention much about Teriah in the weeks ahead. They’ll obviously be busy adjusting to motherhood, while also enjoying every precious moment a new baby can bring. While no one wants to see any awesome super couple go through issues, the fact of the matter is, there hasn’t been much from Tessa and Mariah on canvas. They went through some minor ups and downs at the beginning of their adoption journey, but there is so much more to adopting a baby than what the Y&R showed.

Daytime dramas have always served the purpose of offering “juicing” storylines, hand-in-hand with also raising awareness around present-day issues and providing a little education along the way. Teriah didn’t necessarily have to hit an obstacle in their adoption process to offer a storyline that showed the final steps in finally welcoming Aria into the world and their home.

Y&R Spoilers – Has The Show’s Writers Hit A Creative Block With The Couple?

Teriah is a fun couple that’s been through a lot. No one wants to see them break up, and it’s great they are enjoying their happily ever after together. With that said, representation matters much more than just having a lesbian couple onscreen to “have a lesbian couple on screen”. This means creating compelling storylines that have fans invested in them. The sad part of all this is Y&R missed an opportunity to develop more of an arc around bringing Aria home than they did.
