The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was caught doing something unusual. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) found his mother sitting in Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) and Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) executive chair.

Diane has no intentions of bumping Adam, who is being targeted by Kyle. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is working with Mealor’s character, intending to have Adam removed from his position as Jack’s co-Chief Executive Officer.

Meanwhile, there is an unfilled slot at Jabot’s Marchetti Home. Diane can take credit for helping to push Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) out and believes she has the skills to replace her rival.

Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) repeatedly warned her mother not to push it. But Phyllis could not stop herself from railing against Diane.

Eventually, enough lines were blurred and crossed. So, Summer felt fully justified in firing her mother. Diane reveled in Phyllis’ removal because Stafford’s character attempted to have Diane fired and run out of Genoa City, Wisconsin.

With all of the above in mind, one wonders if Kyle would want to see his mother at Marchetti Home.

Y&R Spoilers – Kyle Abbott Giving Mother Benefit Of The Doubt

Kyle revealed something touching to his father recently. He was worried that Jack and Diane’s reconciliation might eventually collapse, and Diane would abandon them again.

Jack dealt with the unfathomable grief Diane created when she faked her death. That is said to have happened well over a decade ago in soap-time when Kyle was a boy.

However, Kyle insists that he is giving his mother the benefit of the doubt about her desire to live a better life. Whether that includes approving her job request is a matter that needs more consideration, as he said to Summer.

Kyle betrayed his father’s trust when telling him that Victor suggested the Adam trap but that he had not provided the Moustache with intel. In fact, he had.

Adam overheard the intense discussion Jack and Kyle had about his co-CEO job. Grossman’s character recently told Jack he does not want to be a problem for him. That, combined with a recent conversation with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), provides momentum for Adam to leave Jabot and return to Newman Enterprises voluntarily.

Even if Adam makes that decision, Jack will not overlook Kyle’s duplicity. As for Diane’s future at Jabot, she is counting on her son’s presence and help to deepen her family ties at what she sees as their family company on Y&R.
