The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Is Resigned To Doom

Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) really thought her life had changed for the better and she could everything she ever wanted after all. Despite pretending to be dead for a decade and hurting Kyle Abbott (Michael Meamor) as a child, he forgave her and they forged ahead with a relationship over the last year.

Jack Abbott also managed to forgive her and they were even going to be married and live that happily ever after. Diane had won and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) had lost and Diane couldn’t be happier. Until now. That is because Diane now sits in a cell having been accused of murdering Phyllis when she knows she didn’t do it. In fact, Phyllis is even alive so nobody killed her. Diane doesn’t know that, however. She just knows that she is being set up and does not want Jack to wait around for her.

Y&R Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Commits Murder

When Jack comes to visit her in lockup, The Young and the Restless spoilers show she tells him to never come again. She doesn’t believe she stands a chance and wants Jack to just move ahead with his life and forget about her.

“She tells Jack, ‘Stop tying yourself to me because I’m lost to you for good,'” Head Writer Josh Griffith said in the April 21, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “She sees the potential hopelessness of her situation. She’ll be going back to a four-by-four cell, thinking it’ll be this way for the rest of her life.”

Not surprisingly, Jack doesn’t want to hear any of that and her sadness makes him more determined than ever to help her and prove she did not kill Phyllis. He also needs to bring Diane around and give her something to hold onto, so he brings up their shared grandson Harrison in the hopes that Diane will not give up the fight so she can be with the little boy again.

“That gets a rise out of Diane,” Griffith said. “But will it be enough to carry her through this latest tribulation?” Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless weekdays to see how this story plays out.
