The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) thinks of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) as his real father. He is teased to take Neil’s name, switching his moniker to Devon Winters.

Yolanda Hamilton (Chene Lawson) has not been in Genoa City, Wisconsin, in many years. When viewers last saw her, she looked like daytime veteran Debbi Morgan (the Yolanda recast) in 2011 and 2012 and called herself Harmony.

The character, that was originally played by Lawson in 2005 and 2006, had a drug problem. That created a rough life for Devon, when he was a boy and his eventual need to live under state control.

A great storyline served as James’ introduction to Y&R in 2004, with that nearly two-decade period being one that might give devoted viewers a chance to reflect on the value of time.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) met Devon. Neil and Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) came to care for him and eventually adopted him.

The Winters’ family generosity changed Devon’s life in ways he never imagined. He later learned Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) was his biological father and that GC’s Grande Dame, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), was his grandmother.

Tucker is revealed as having contacted Harmony and ensuring she was transported to the party honoring Neil at the newly created Jazz Lounge at the GC Athletic Club.

Devon’s relationship with Tucker has been bumpy. At times they have gotten along. At others they did not.

While Devon rejected Tucker’s offer to buy McCall Unlimited, he understands the desire to move away from a focus on that business. Tucker continues to persist in his efforts to bond with Devon, and there are signs that his son is more open to responding.

The truth is that Tucker and his son can have a father-son relationship if they both want it. Tucker is not giving up on that happening, with his latest act of helping Devon reconnect with his biological mother likely leading to progress on Y&R.
