Knowing that his mother is alive and she and Summer Newman Abbott (Alison Lanier) are letting Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) take the fall for killing someone who is not dead is weighing heavily on Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) mind.

He has done some pretty underhanded things in his time, but nothing like this. Daniel can barely believe Summer would go along with such a scheme and risk her marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) seeing that Diane is her mother-in-law.

Summer begged her brother not to tell anyone the truth until Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was ready to come out of hiding but Daniel just can’t do it.

This is all too much and he makes a decision on Friday regarding what to do with this information. He has to tell someone but will he tell the police or just confide in Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), the person closest to him right now?

Meanwhile, Michael Baldwin (Christian J. Le Blanc) gets a break in the case. He is defending Diane and managed to get her out of lockup, but the charges are still there. Will this break come from whatever Daniel decides to do or will he find another bit of evidence?

With Phyllis trying to make weird contact with both Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Michael, one of them is bound to figure out what’s been going on, right?

Sharon Collins (Sharon Case) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) enjoyed their first date and realize they want to spend more time together.

That leads to a close moment on Friday but will it become a physical moment? Sharon has been lonely and doing nothing but doling out advice over coffee for over a year so it’s about time she finds someone who can be good to her.
