Y&R Spoilers: Daniel Keeps Mom’s Secret, Spirals Back Into Terrible Old Ways

The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint at more shockers on the horizon in Genoa City. Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) world has come crashing down on him as of late when he learned that his mom Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was really alive.

Sis Summer Newman-Abbott (Alison Lanier) spilled the beans about how mommy dearest framed Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) for her murder and then stabbed Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) to death in self-defense. He’s vowed to blow all this out of the water; however, he hasn’t done so yet. Will keeping this secret cause Daniel to spiral down a bad path, again?

Y&R spoilers reveal that Daniel will struggle with a moral dilemma this week. He’s not okay with covering for his mom and allowing Diane to go down for a murder she did not commit.

He’s also warned Summer about the ramifications she’ll face when her husband Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) finds out the truth.

With that said, after just “losing” his mom, the last thing he wants to do is lose her again. While it was totally her fault that she schemed with Jeremy to bring down Jenkins, and the two crossed a hundred different lines going “way too far” in their revenge plan, it certainly wasn’t Phyllis’s fault for killing Stark. She was simply defending herself. Having said that, it would look very bad to the police if she came forward now. She would certainly face jail time.

Daniel wants to do what’s right; however, he also wants to protect his mother.

Whether Phyllis remains in hiding or reveals herself with a major lie/scheme she’s thought up, Daniel will likely cover for his mom.

Not only will telling the truth hurt Red and send her to prison, but he also won’t want to be the reason his sister’s marriage crumbles, too.

Before coming back to GC, Daniel fought hard with inner demons and partied a lot. Perhaps, he doesn’t turn to partying this time around to cope but just turns to drinking.

This could have a negative effect on his business venture, and budding relationship with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
