During the Monday, October 23 broadcast of the daytime soap, she encouraged Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to take the rest of her day off. She offered to look after the office. After Nikki left, Claire stood behind her desk and looked at a photo of Victoria.

She had a sad expression on her face. Claire returned to her hotel room and got dressed in her luxurious gray pajamas. She looked through pictures of the Newman family as she enjoyed a glass of red wine.
