The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) realized that she could not live without her children.

But her change in plans led to Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) death and the alienation of Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei).

Phyllis beat the significant criminal charges against her. Thankfully a compassionate judge recognized the unusual nature of Phyllis’ circumstances and ruled with compassion.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Jeremy Stark Had To Go

Jeremy was a good short-term villain. Hyde’s daytime resume allowed him to portray a solid bad guy who clearly needed to be dealt with by Genoa City, Wisconsin’s resident fixer, Phyllis.

Killing Jeremy was necessary to preserve her own life. The plot also needed to be pushed because fans knew that unless an off-stage secret was being kept, Stafford was a main character and was not going anywhere.

Phyllis’ problem was knowing that she convinced her children she died. Repairing that level of deep hurt is not an easy fix.

Y&R Spoilers – Summer Newman Abbott Hurt The Most

Like Summer, Daniel was psychologically damaged by his mother’s failed plan to frame Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters). But he was not hurt nearly as badly as his sister.

Summer’s marriage collapsed because she felt compelled to keep Phyllis’ existence from her husband.

However, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) did learn Phyllis was alive during the period when she was hiding from the authorities. As the audience recalls, he opted not to turn his mother-in-law in.

Kyle’s decision to kick Summer out of the Abbott mansion, where they were living with his son, Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), and subsequent romantic pairing with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) created what seems like an irreconcilable difference that is grounds for divorce.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Addresses Daniel Romalotti First

Phyllis is talking with Daniel about Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), who appears to be interested in reconciliation if he does not remain committed to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).

It feels as though Phyllis is working Daniel first, in hopes of helping him restore ties with Heather. If that works, Graziadei’s character might be inclined to talk Phyllis up to Summer.

However, Phyllis may need to allow Summer time to right her life. Being in a better head space will help this mother and daughter to heal on Y&R.
