The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Jack Abbott Is Absolutely Furious

Over in Salem, EJ DiMera couldn’t wait to one-up his brother, Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash), and in Genoa City Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) can’t let Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) be the only one who is engaged.

It all starts when Jack realizes that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and Ashley are plotting a coup to take over Jabot and oust Jack and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) from the CEO spots. When Jack returns home and confronts Ashley, the 60-something siblings have a childish fight with their significant others chiming in.

Tucker comes to Ashley’s defense and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) comes to Jack’s defense, with Ashley telling Jack that his unhealthy preoccupation with Diane is one of the reasons they do not think he is fit to run Jabot at the moment. When Jack points out that Tucker is no prize either and at least Diane is his fiance, Ashley blurts out that Tucker is her fiance, which is definitely news to Tucker.

“Ashley truly believes that Diane is fully aware of the problems she is causing between Jack and Ashley,” Head Writer Josh Griffith said in the May 29, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest.

Ashley felt Diane was up to something from the moment that she returned from the dead and to Genoa City last year. In fact, she originally teamed up with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to bring Diane down and get her out of Jack’s life, but Tucker’s reassurance has definitely distracted her. And how she makes this impulsive move.

“While Ashley made this announcement in the heart of the moment, she quickly realizes, thanks to Jack’s reaction, that she can use this to her advantage in her master plan of rudding her family of Diane once and for all,” Griffith said.
