Y&R Spoilers: Ashley Considers Next Steps – Diane Not Entrenched Yet

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) remains determined to remove Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) as a threat. That goal remains hard to accomplish because her brother believes his fiance loves him and is not a threat to the Abbott family or Jabot.

Diane secured a C-suite position that anyone, except Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), would claim she is not qualified for. In the not-so-old days, the co-Chief Executive Officer of Jabot would have had the public relations department create a press release, print it, and distribute it to the media, with a physical copy being delivered to every prominent member of the Board of Directors.

Today, Jack had the news delivered electronically through the internet. Ashley and co-CEO, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), learned about Diane’s promotion to Chief Talent Officer.

Tucker does not like seeing what Diane’s presence does to her. He has proven to Ashley that his love for her is real, and distancing themselves as much as possible from Diane and Jack makes sense.

Ashley verbally agreed to go along with Tucker’s plan. He wants to create a new company, called Simply Ashley which was not as delicious as the McAbbott moniker they joked about.

But getting Ashley to fully turn her attention from Jack’s personal life is easier said than done in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Y&R Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Is Engaged

Devoted viewers took note of the planned wedding date Diane and Jack set. It is scheduled for the fall.

Whenever there is plenty of plot space, it is reasonable to believe the time is allowed to alter projections. So, Diane’s plan to marry Jack may not happen.

Ashley is counting on the time between now and then for Diane to self-destruct, Jack to admit his fiance is not right for him, or for outside factors to prevent that wedding ceremony from being realized. Ashley also gained the backing of Billy after he was blindsided by the CTO alert about Diane that he opened on his smartphone.

Pairing with Tucker in business is part of Ashley’s current plans. They also made a marriage announcement in the recent past.

Ashley said she would remarry Tucker before Walters’ character married Jack. That quip was a reactionary jab that left fans wondering if Ashley would follow through purely to upstage Diane.

A rival business, that targets Jabot or more specifically whatever Diane will be heading, would create plenty of drama. Viewers will keep watching to see what develops with both pairings on Y&R.
