Y&R Spoilers: Adam’s Baby News Is Good For Billy – Clearer Path To Chelsea

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) knows he is a father again. He should spend far less time than he otherwise would have with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) because Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is his renewed priority.

While Sally told Adam he should not expect the baby news to cause them to reconcile, his focus has already shifted from the woman who is the mother to two of his children (Connor Newman, Judah Mackey and Riley Newman, Malachi Barton, who died before being born). The late Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan) is the mother of his other child, Christian Newman (Alex Wilson), whom he allowed Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to raise as his own.

Because this is soap, a change in the DNA test results can always happen. Assuming that does not happen, Adam will be heavily involved in Sally’s day-to-day life until she gives birth.

Chelsea is teased to give Adam advice about the situation. But the potential for Adam and Egan’s characters to romantically reconnect seems slim at this point in the plot.

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has slowly become a legitimate option for Chelsea because of their son, Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind). While Johnny and his realized brother, Connor, reacted badly to the news, they since apologized to their birth mother and embraced their deeper genetic tie.

Billy long called himself a screw-up. That wrongful mindset existed because of what happened to his daughter, Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono).

Adam’s guilt about accidentally hitting and killing Billy’s daughter has never abated, but he grew tired of Billy’s psychological games and has not appeased his grief for years. There is a competitive element between these men where Chelsea is concerned, and she knows it.

However, Billy has matured in recent years. Great credit goes to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) for her efforts and, more recently, to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), who helped to stabilize Billy’s personality and straighten his outlook.

Chelsea was a poor soul, wrecked by another torturous involvement with Adam in the recent past. Her break from him and the loss of someone Chelsea grew fond of, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), led to a breakdown.

But Chelsea has reestablished her life and is doing well. She is taking a measured approach to the growing involvement with Billy and allowing herself to have fun.

Billy’s involvement with Chelsea has bothered Adam. But he has a real issue to focus on after Sally told him he is the father of her first child on Y&R.
