The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) pushed his father into the corner and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) knocked his ever-restless son down.
A terrific ending scene showed Braeden, at a spry eight-two years old, taking his frustrations out on the punching bag. His comment about being alone underscores how Genoa City, Wisconsin’s still-leading man, through four-plus decades, still towers over this show.
Sure, Adam shares some of his father’s traits. How can he not, considering the length of time he has lived in GC after moving from his mother’s farm in Kansas, attending college, and getting his feet wet in New York?
Grossman’s character continues to cling to self-pity, choosing to feel that he can never be successful unless everything goes his way one hundred percent of the time.
Setting himself up for mental failure provides a certain level of comfort because he is used to playing the victim, as Victor’s handpicked head of Newman Media and the love of his life, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), recently said.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) can work in the structure Victor is proposing. He simply wants to talk with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) before agreeing to his father’s decision.
Victor accurately portrayed the flawed dynamic between Nick, Adam, and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case).
Rather than prepare a business plan or even state their vision, each part of the trio took part in bickering that came to a head at the meeting Victor called them to at the Ranch.
With the right touch, Victoria can convince Nick that he will add to Newman Media. Having Nikki head that show should also prove comforting.
So, Nick seems inclined to remain on the organizational chart, especially because his fad finally put Adam in his place.
Sharon implored Victor to not allow Cameron Kirsten’s (Linden Ashby) company to become a meaningless part of whatever Newman Media is developing into.
Victor’s ruthless streak was seen as he told Sharon that he did not have time for compassion where business was concerned.
Whether Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) will be able to help Sharon remains to be seen. Victor likely created a contract without any wiggle room.
So, Sharon may have to remain part of the new Newman Media or accept the buyout as Victor can offer and Adam supported on Y&R.
