Y&R Spoilers: Adam Glad Billy Recognizes Similarities – Newman And Abbott Issues Persist

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) recognized a while ago that he and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) share some common traits.

But Adam sees himself somewhat differently than his longtime nemesis.

Grossman’s character feels he is the eternal victim. Falsely portrayed as a narcissist, the Newman family has pigeonholed him to the point where Adam can never fly straight and is therefore incapable of finding a place in the coop when attempting to return home.

In contrast, Billy is simply a screw-up.

There is a distinct difference between Billy and Adam. John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) was a vastly different type of role model than Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

In death, John has been lionized even more than he was by his children during his time on Earth. Jabot is seen as a benevolent company that promotes its customer’s self-worth.

Newman Enterprises remains what its founder is, a predator. Victor’s ruthless streak is embodied by his company’s mission to further its business interests using any means necessary.

Y&R Spoilers – Jack Abbott’s Influence Is Good

Adam looks up to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) as a big brother. That feeling was reaffirmed when Jack took pity on Adam and appointed him as his co-Chief Executive Officer at Jabot.

Grossman’s character had a short-lived stay at the Cosmetics firm. Adam’s departure led to Billy’s return.

Billy listened to Adam’s play, that Jack would never intentionally cut anyone out of Jabot as long as that person did a good job.

Of course, Adam did not know Billy was bothered when assuming Jack suspected him of aspiring to run Jabot if he had gone along with Ashley Abbott McCall’s (Eileen Davidson) takeover scheme.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Threatens His Dad

Adam refuses to grow up. Victor chided his youngest son for his childish desire to see the world from a me-first perspective.

Grossman’s character rarely projects the warm-hearted goodness that his mother, Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) embodied.

But devoted viewers know there are times when Adam’s better graces are seen. Donating a kidney to Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and allowing Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to be the only father Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) knows.

Threatening Victor, when he named Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) the head of Newman Media, furthers Adam’s bad boy pattern.

Billy and Adam know that they have often defaulted to that shared persona on Y&R.
