The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) have not been able to build off the momentary truce Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) evoked in recent weeks. Instead, the two combatants are at each other’s throats. Jack believes Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) is all wrong for his sister. Ashley believes Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) has her brother snowed. Both siblings see those fiances as mortal threats to Jabot’s survival.

Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) decision to accept Jack’s offer and become his co-Chief Executive Officer was a signal to viewers. Devoted fans knew Billy putting himself in the middle would eventually lead to unavoidable conflict in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Billy had a few conversations with Diane. He does not doubt her love for his brother but did not think it was best for her to remain as Jabot’s Chief Talent Officer.The CTO title was suggested by Diane, with Jack immediately endorsing his revived love’s plan. However, Walters’ character told Jack that she was opting out of the new job to counter Ashley’s top concern.

But Jack’s plea that Diane stays at Jabot worked and she reversed herself. Billy also appears to agree with Diane’s plan to fool Ashley and Tucker, which includes using him as a Trojan horse.

Ashley has been gambling for a while. She did not want to reconcile with Tucker because of remnant scars.

But Ashley thought her way past the hurt and convinced herself that Tucker has her best interests at heart. She appears to be right on that plot point.

However, Ashley rejected Tucker’s assertion that she should break from Jabot to avoid conflict with Jack.

Ashley believes she should not be forced out of the company their father, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), founded and left as a legacy gift to his entire family, not just Jack.

Jack has long believed that he is the rightful heir to John’s throne, and that is the problem. John did not see himself as king, but Jack does.

Ashley won the legal right to intellectual material in recent years. She possesses the potential to take her patents and use them to build Simply Ashley. But Ashley does not want Jabot or Jack to fall.

Bergman’s character does not share Ashley’s foresight. Instead, he is behaving with emotion based on retaining power and protecting his fiance. Those actions are bad for the company John founded on Y&R.
