Fans of Barbara Crampton and her inimitable gossip maven character Leanna Love will be pleased to know that both return this week. Love was priceless as reporter who would do almost anything to get a scoop and we think that Genoa City, Wisconsin has been a lot less exciting without her loveable antics.

Brings Back Mamie Johnson Who remembers the Abbott family housekeeper Mamie Johnson? We have good news for fans of the loyal character who nearly had a romance with John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), Veronica Redd is back as Mamie Johnson.

Johnson was in charge of the Abbott household and this included being a surrogate mother to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).

Why was it necessary for Mamie to fill in as a mother for the Abbott kids (a job she performed beautifully and with much love)?

Mamie stepped up when fickle Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) left her family for a life of debauchery in Paris.

Along the way Mamie tangled with John’s wife Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and she and John almost became an item before outraged fans voiced their displeasure.

Mamie also took in her niece Drucilla Barber (Victoria Rowell) who became a force to be reckoned with in Genoa City, Wisconsin. We last saw Mamie in 2004 when her character left to travel the world, a well-deserved treat after years of putting up with GC you-know-what!
