Y&R Casting Leak: Faith Newman SORAS Again? Days Actor Rumored Recast

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the CBS soap opera could be planning to recast the role of Faith Newman, previously portrayed by Reylynn Caster. Before Reylynn briefly took over the part of Faith, Alyvia Alyn Lind portrayed Faith from 2011-2021.

Faith was born in 2009, so she should be 13. But Summer Newman was born in 2006, so she should be 16, not nearing 30. In soap operas, they often rapidly age children. We’ll see them as babies, then toddlers, then preteens, and overnight they are adults. We call this occurrence SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome).

Faith is an essential character to Y&R. She’s the youngest child of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). The Young and the Restless spoilers say that CBS is looking at a Days of Our Lives actress to soap hop to take over the role of Faith.

The writers have explained Faith’s absence by having her go to college. She’s been gone for six or so months. By the time they bring the new actress to the role, Faith will be in her mid-twenties and have a college degree.

The Y&R viewers watched as the writers had Sharon go back to school. She studied for several months, and then she was degreed and was a licensed therapist.

Y&R Spoilers– Lindsay Arnold Could Be The New Faith Newman

Lindsay Arnold is 23, which sounds about the age they would age Faith. The actress recently exited Days of Our Lives, leaving the role of Allie Horton in her rearview mirror.

Faith could return home to spend time with her family. She could offer her sister, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), as she prepares to be a mother. They could cast a younger man for a mature romance. There is plenty of potential to bring Faith back on the canvas, but it likely would be saved for May sweeps.

Social media buzz suggests aging Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) to pair with Faith. Johnny and Faith have no blood relation, as Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) adopted Johnny from Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). The Young and the Restless spoilers say that pairing Faith and Johnny would bring drama between the Newmans, Abbotts, and Chelsea. It could shake up the rather bland recent storylines.
