Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that the show could be (finally) setting the stage for Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) exit. While the character hasn’t been seen in the land of Genoa City for quite some time, he has been mentioned on canvas, now and again. Will fans finally get some closure with this legendary Genoa City character?

Y&R spoilers indicate that Paul will likely not be shown in GC anytime soon. After all, the actor has made this crystal clear on Twitter, and, the show made an official announcement in February 2019. Lastly, if he were to return, the town’s bicentennial gala would have provided the perfect opportunity.

With many familiar faces making a comeback to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary, most fans would have loved to see Paul Williams be one of them.

Alas, Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), who also happens to be Paul’s wife, flew the gala solo, without her plus one. However, many fans picked up on some not-so-subtle hints during some scenes she had with friends.

Y&R Spoilers – Problems In The Williams’ Marriage Has Paul In Portugal

During a recent Y&R scene, the Balwins approached Christine at the gala event. Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) asked Ms. Williams where her hubby was, noting that Paul is now “retired” from the chief of police in Genoa City.

Christine replied that he’s in Portugal with Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) as their visit recently to the little town just wasn’t “enough” for him. Christine also had a similar conversation with Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) when the two caught up at the big party.

So, it’s clear that Paul is retired now, and has taken a trip to Portugal; however, the mannerisms in which Christine reveals this information is even more interesting than the info itself. Ms. Williams tried to look as nonchalant as possible, but fans could notice some slight bitterness in her eyes. Are the Williams having issues?

Now that Paul is officially retired, could he bounce off to Portugal to think things through? Perhaps their marriage is already done, and Christine doesn’t want to say anything at the gala, to spoil the mood.

After years of fans begging producers to give the iconic Williams character some closure, as they failed to do so despite being a fan favorite, looks like audiences will finally get some sort of exit from Paul.
