Yellowstone’s Kevin Costner Celebrates July 4 With A Patriotic Post

Yellowstone star and Hollywood actor Kevin Costner celebrated July 4 with the hope of a “more perfect union.” The actor, who has starred in a number of patriotic movies, shared an image to Instagram of a scene from his award-winning movie, Dances With Wolves.

On July 4, Yellowstone star Kevin Costner shared an image from his hit movie and directorial debut, Dances With Wolves. In the image, Costner sports a moustache, while carrying a US flag. Meanwhile, he captioned the image, writing, “Happy Fourth, friends,” adding:

I’ve spent my career diving into the history of America—both the ugly and the beautiful parts of it. Today, I celebrate the HOPE that drove our ancestors. May it continue to push us towards a more perfect Union, together.

About Dances With Wolves

In Dances With Wolves, Costner plays the role of Union Army Lieutenant John Dunbar. In the storyline, he meets a group of Lakota while heading through the American frontier to a military post.

Besides directing and starring in the award-winning, three-hour-long movie, Costner also acted as a producer of the movie, which is credited as a pivotal influence in reviving the Western genre in Hollywood. The movie went on to be nominated for 12 Academy Awards.

Moreover, it won seven trophies, including best picture and best director for Costner. Meanwhile, the movie was in 2007 preserved by the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. In fact, Dances With Wolves was considered “culturally and historically significant.”

Costner and the Wild West

After that classic moment in the American West, and following his fame in Yellowstone, Costner is working on a series of movies. According to IMDb, Horizon: An American Saga, is a movie series telling the story of a “15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West.

While Costner continues to soar in TV and movies, his pending divorce from his wife, Christine Baumgardner, was a shock to the actor. This is especially so after finding on-screen success in the modern West series, Yellowstone.

Fox News Digital obtained documents that reveal Baumgartner filed for divorce from Costner on May 1, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The document listed the date of separation as April 11, 2023. Meanwhile, both parties have filed for joint custody of their children, Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14 and Grace, 12.

Meanwhile, part 2 of the final season 5 of Yellowstone is set to air in November 2023.
