Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly On Why She Didn’t Attend PaleyFest

Yellowstone fans were recently upset and confused when the main cast of the modern Western series was absent from PaleyFest. Many had bought tickets just to see Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly and more. Meanwhile, their absence fueled more rumors about the show and whether it will be canceled. Read on to find out why Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton was absent from the popular fan event.

Why didn’t Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly attend PaleyFest?

Many Yellowstone fans were angry and upset after buying tickets to PaleyFest just to see the main cast of the hit modern Western series. While there was initially nothing to explain Kevin Costner and Co.’s absence, Kelly Reilly has opened up about why she wasn’t there.

The actress that plays Beth Dutton posted a photo to her Instagram, alongside Brian Cox, a co-star in a new project Kelly is working on. One of her fans decided to ask her why she was absent from PaleyFest, to which Reilly replied:

I was filming in the UK at the time, and let them know in January I wouldn’t be able to attend. I was sorry to hear my name was still on the list of attendees, as it is unfair to our fans.

Held at the beginning of April, PaleyFest is a popular fan event where attendees get to hear and see their heroes in person. Many arrived at the event, excited to see the Yellowstone cast, including Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelsy Asbille, Wes Bentley, Jacki Weaver and Gil Birmingham. Moreover, executive producers Taylor Sheridan and David Glasser were supposed to be at the event.

However, while fans had paid good money to see them, an announcement was made shortly before the event started. In fact, the announcement said the lineup was changed due to “scheduling conflicts.” Meanwhile, instead of seeing the Yellowstone icon, Kevin Costner and more, the lineup was changed. Moreover, the event featured Dawn Olivieri, Mo Brings Plenty, Josh Lucas, Wendy Moniz and Keith Cox, President of Scripted.

While rumors have been swirling about Kevin Costner possibly leaving the show, the cast’s absence from Paleyfest fueled even more. There was speculation of bad blood between Costner and Sheridan, with rumors of Paramount planning to take Yellowstone in a different direction without the John Dutton actor.

While many of the cast members that skipped the event have yet to respond, at least we now know why Kelly Reilly was absent from the event.
