Yellowstone Upsets Fans With Kevin Costner Instagram Post

As fans know only too well, Yellowstone season 5 is currently on hiatus and is waiting for part 2 of season 5. All the rumors relating to Kevin Costner possibly leaving have left raw nerves and all fans want now is answers. So, when Yellowstone made a new Instagram post featuring Kevin Costner, fans reacted badly.

Yellowstone season 5 still on midseason break

Initially, fans were told that part 2 of season 5 of the hit modern Western series would return during the summer of 2023. However, since then controversy has ruled, mostly relating to Kevin Costner and whether he is leaving the Paramount show.

While news is scarce as to the second part of season 5, Yellowstone has tried to keep its fans happy on the show’s official Instagram account. They have shared many cast photos and videos, but the latest post has fans confused and impatient.

The post includes a brief video clip of Kevin Costner as John Dutton, which can be seen here. In it, Dutton grumbles as he takes a seat and says, “I’m gonna need a drink for this.” Meanwhile, Yellowstone posted the caption, “A new work week? No thanks.”

Fans’ react to the Instagram post

Some fans might think that Yellowstone is hinting at the start of filming for the second part of season 5. However, others are impatient and upset by the length of time the series has been off the air. Referring to John Dutton’s words, one fan wrote, “Me too.” Another commented, writing, “I am John Dutton, John Dutton is me,” while another wrote, “Cheers.”

However, others are just plain unhappy at the wait, with one fan writing, “This has been too long of a wait for us fans.” Another strongly warned Yellowstone, writing:

Loving this show is like meeting the love of your life, but then they leave you. It’s disappointing to have to wait so long for it to resume. You lose passion for it.

Meanwhile, yet another commented, “I love this show but this wait is ridiculous.” Moreover, another firmly placed the blame on Kevin Costner’s scheduling commitments, writing: “Costner needs to go if he doesn’t want to work. Write him out or replace him with somebody else.”

This was followed by another Yellowstone fan, writing: “Hey Costner, do your job and finish filming!”

That is a huge “Ouch!” from us on behalf of the award-winning actor.

Meanwhile, despite reassurances in the media, Costner’s future in the modern Western series is still a topic of speculation. Meanwhile, reports say that Paramount is considering ending the iconic cowboy series due to Costner’s scheduling difficulties.

Despite this, and as previously reported, Keith Cox, President of Development and Production at Paramount Network, addressed the subject at a Yellowstone panel earlier in April. He stressed:

What I can say he is our star, the face of our show and the executive producer, we are very confident he’s going to continue with our show.
