Yellowstone Star Luke Grimes’ New Rom-Com Hits Netflix Top 10

As recently reported, Luke Grimes, the actor who plays John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) son, Kayce Dutton is starring in a Netflix rom-com, Happiness For Beginners. Netflix users and Yellowstone fans have clearly been logging into their accounts on the streamer to watch Grimes in action, alongside his co-star Ellie Kemper. It seems the movie has been attracting many viewers, pushing it up into Netflix’s Top Ten. In fact, it has had 5 million views just this week.

What with his music career and his new Netflix movie, it is clear that Luke Grimes is keeping busy as Yellowstone heads to its finale. Admittedly, part 2 of season 5 of the modern Western hasn’t started filming yet, but fans hope to see the finale in November this year.

Meanwhile, Grimes’ new movie, Happiness For Beginners is attracting big audiences on Netflix and it looks like he probably had a great time filming it. The movie is a classic rom-com, where a recent divorcee, Helen (Ellie Kemper), decides to hike the Appalachian Trail to clear her head a little.

However, as her journey to recovery starts, she is unwillingly joined on the Appalachian Trail by Jake (Grimes), a friend of her brothers who always knew her now ex-husband wasn’t the best. This leads to an awkward, but nature-filled jaunt on the famous Appalachian Trail and a better future for Helen.

Subscribers are obviously impressed, as the movie, written and directed by Vicky Wright is doing well. In fact, Happiness For Beginners is currently at No. 8 in the Netflix top ten and it has been in the charts for three weeks now.

Meanwhile, fans likely recognize Ellie Kemper as she has starred in some of the best comedy series, including The Office. In that show, she played Erin Hannon and starred in the later seasons of the series, Kemper had a starring role in the popular The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, considered to be one of the best TV series ever.

As mentioned, Grimes plays Kayce Dutton in Yellowstone and his fun role in Happiness For Beginners came at a difficult time for the hit drama series. The final part of the final season of the hit modern Western series is still up in the air.
