According to Yellowstone 1923 star, Helen Mirren, she had to “pretend to be cool” while filming with Harrison Ford in bed. The Queen star, 77, spoke at the 2023 Awards Season Screening Series about what it was like to film with the 80-year-old Dances With Wolves actor.
You can’t keep a good girl down, even at the age of 77, as renowned actress Helen Mirren reveals what it was like to film bedroom scenes with Harrison Ford in 1923. Mirren attended the Deadline Contenders Day Two with The Wrap in Los Angeles along with costars, Brandon Sklenar and Aminah Nieves.
During the live panel, Mirren spoke of a specific bedroom scene, where Jacob and Cara had to be intimate. Speaking of the scene, Mirren said:
I had to be in the bed with him, you know. But I’m lying there and I’m thinking, ‘I’m in bed with Harrison Ford.’
Helen continued, saying she was “so excited” and “had to pretend to be cool,” adding, “Don’t tell him. Promise me.”
Speaking of the Indiana Jones and Star Wars actor, she said, “He’s amazing, he really is,” adding that he is a “humongous movie star.” However, she added that at the same time, Harrison doesn’t enjoy the limelight, adding, “He has this interior quality about him.”
Meanwhile, Yellowstone prequel 1923 star Harrison Ford spoke fondly of Helen Mirren back in February. Appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Ford said his costar was “still sexy.” Moreover, he revealed that the chance to work with Mirren again was a “big draw” and ultimately made him sign up for the prequel series. Ford and Mirren had previously starred together in the 1986 drama movie, The Mosquito Coast.
On the show, Colbert revealed a still from that movie, where Mirren is lying on top of Ford, saying, “Sexy and still sexy.” Moreover, Harrison agreed, saying “She is still sexy.”
Of interest to note, when Helen herself appeared on the show, she grabbed Colbert as she walked on the stage, giving him a smooch, much to the delight of the audience.
