Currently, the hit modern Western series Yellowstone is creating a lot of headlines. These mostly relate to a Kevin Costner controversy and rumors that the Paramount series could come to an end. However, while fans are impatiently waiting for the second half of Yellowstone season 5, something has happened to the promo video that announced a summer return for the show.
Currently, anyone searching for a video announcing the summer return of Yellowstone season 5 won’t have much luck. Paramount published the teaser two months ago and while the video is still on YouTube, for some reason it is now “unlisted,” which means only those who have the URL can currently find it.
Shortly following the midseason break for the hit modern Western series, Paramount officially announced a summer 2023 return for the second half of the season. While that is still a long wait for fans, at least they were reassured that the series would come back.
However, now it seems Paramount isn’t too interested in promoting the summer of 2023 return of Yellowstone. While the video still exists on YouTube, it is now unlisted, meaning that it can only be found if you have the link. Have a look at a screenshot of the video on YouTube below, where it is clearly marked as unlisted.
However, if you click on this link, the video comes up and plays just fine.
Currently, Yellowstone is facing a number of issues and problems, including rumors that Kevin Costner could leave the show. In one report, it was claimed that Costner only wanted to shoot the balance of season 5 over one single week, due to other engagements. However, Costner’s lawyer denied the rumors, but they still do the rounds.
According to a report by Puck News, show creator Taylor Sheridan is furious over the Costner controversy. In fact, it was hinted that Sheridan was ready to kill off the John Dutton character. Of course, if that did happen, fans would be upset at the lead character’s untimely departure.
As Paramount’s summer return teaser has gone unlisted, does that mean fans should be worried? This does seen to hint at a change in the return date for the modern Western hit series. Meanwhile, production was slated to start in March, but so far, there is no indication that it is underway, and we are already halfway through the month. Moreover, with news of Kevin Costner’s busy schedule, it isn’t clear if the veteran actor is even available to shoot part 2 of season 5.
The situation does make it seem that fans will only get to watch the rest of season 5 in late 2023, or even worse, early 2024.
For now, fans will have to wait until there is more concrete news about part 2 of season 5.
